StellarNet Inc. has developed the EPP3000C research
grade spectrometer for UV plus VIS spectroscopy
applications from 190-780nm. The system
contains a 1024 wavelength scan memory and can provide 10ms
spectral data from an ultra sensitive, TE cooled, Hamamatsu CCD detector.
The spectrometer contains no mirrors and uses an aberration corrected
holographic, concave diffraction grating for superb imaging while minimizing stray
light (<0.2%@220nm). The unit provides 0.7nm resolution at
FWHM and can connect directly to a PC's enhanced parallel port (EPP) and eliminates the
need for a separate 16 bit A/D converter. The unit is suitable for industrial
process or research applications where high signal to noise
(20,000:1), or high dynamic range ( >50,000), or synoptic
multi-channel data acquisition is required.
The unit can receive optical input from 1 or as many as 12 different fiber sources.
With an 8 channel fiber input each channel can be acquired at the rate of 10 times per
second. The light input is internally imaged onto a single concave grating
and detector combination to provide the ultimate in synoptical data collection.
A standard rack mount model is provided with 8 channel
fiber optic inputs and includes an integrated xenon lamp with 8 fiber optic
outputs. The retail price for this model is less than $2375 per channel.
The Win95/NT based SpectraWiz tm operating software is
included. It acquires and displays the spectral data in real time for absorbance,
transmittance (or reflectance), and emission (or irradiance). A LabView driver is also
included with instrument software. Additional software available for Process
Control, Neural Networks, PLS, and Color QC. Surf
