Miniature Fiber Optic Integrating Sphere

IS1-sphere.jpg (82112 bytes) (Click on image for larger view)

StellarNet has developed a low cost miniature fiber optic integrating sphere for attachment to SMA terminated fibers.  The IS1 is an accessory used to measure spectral irradiance.  It has a 3/8 inch diameter light input port to its internal (white) sphere.  The fiber optic cable receives input from the reflection off of the internal 3/4 inch diameter sphere surface.  The IS1 is ideal for portable color measurements and acts like a cosine receptor for irradiance measurements.

StellarNet manufactures a line of miniture fiber optic spectrometers, software, and accessories with no moving parts or detector sockets using a fully integrated high-speed A/D converter and 2000 wavelength spectral memory.  CCD or optional Photo Diode Array detectors are permanently mounted onto the spectrograph optics to prevent alignment drift from vibration and temperature.  High speed parallel  printer port interface uses the IEEE1284 digital standard to provide consistant data across platforms and improve baseline noise.  Dual-Beam and multi-channel configurations are easily daisy-chained to provide concurrent spectral data. Fiber Optic Lens Accessories

Lens-Col.jpg (32518 bytes) (Click on image for larger view)

StellarNet has developed a line of low cost, fiber optic attachment accessories that facilitate coupling of light with fiber optic cables.   The LENS-COL or LENS-QCOL (for UV) attach directly to the tip of SMA teminated fibers for infinity to fiber or fiber to infinity coupling.   These simple colimating lenses provide optimal transfer for both illumination or detection arrangements without adjustment.  Typical configurations include illumination and detection for both short and long path optical arrangements.   Example usage is for reflectance color measurement or emission wavelength detection, and spectroscopy for absorption and transmission measurements requiring various short or long path lengths.  The devices can also be used for efficient 1 to many or many to 1 fiber bundle coupling.

StellarNet has developed a line of low cost, miniature fiber optic spectrum analyzers (OSA's) that connect directly to a notebook PC's Enhanced Parallel Printer port or plug can plug inside a desktop computer. The OSA attaches to a fiber optic cable to measure wavelength (frequency) and power output from emission sources such as laser diodes and LED's.  The Win9x/NT based SpectraWiz® operating software provides measurement functions for peak wavelengths at full width half max, centroid, and area power spectral density in watts per meter^2 and dBm.  Irradiance calibration for the Y axis magnitude is performed at the factory with an NIST traceable light source.  Real-time graphs provide spectrum displays with robust control features including persistance overlay, data cursors, spectrum save, load, multi-plot, and multi-channel display.  Custom and high resolution models are available for ranges in the UV, Vis, and NIR (190-1200nm).  The XNIR2 OSA covers 1200-1625nm for use with single mode fibers to monitor 1310nm and 1550nm laser diodes.

StellarNet has developed a low cost miniature fiber optic SpectroColorimeter. The EPP2000 portable instrument interfaces to a computers Enhanced Printer Port and is available in a concave grating UV+VIS (EPP2000C, 190-850nm) or ruled grating VIS+NIR (EPP2000-VIS, 350-1150nm) configuration.   The SpectraWiz® operating software provides real-time displays for CIELAB measurements while simultaneously displaying the actual transmission spectra in the background.  A CIELAB tolerancing graph plots the a* and b* color frame values as a single point.  The L* lightness is plotted in a separate bar graph.   Any one of 19 standard CIE illuminants, such as A (tungsten-filament) or D65 (daylight), can be configured to match your setup.  Digital measurement values are displayed in the color app panel for L*, a*, b*, DeltaE*, chroma, hue, and the XYZ tristimulus.  Users can save or load their own color standards for real-time color tolerancing and QC applications.   This mode provides Delta E* measurements to detect color differences between samples.  User sample data can be rapidly catalogued to disk in standard text format.  The ISA2000 model SpectroColorimeters can be installed inside industrial computers.
