SpectraWiz ver. 2 Software Release

StellarNet Inc. has announced version 2 release of its popular SpectraWiz® operating software for use with the companys’ low cost portable fiber optic spectrometer instrumentation. The software suite includes spectroradiometry, spectrocolorimetry, chemistry concentration analyzer, optical spectrum analysis tools, UV level monitors, in addition to real-time spectroscopy measurements for emissions, fluorescence, reflectance, absorbance, and transmission. Suite applications are commonly priced separately, however the SpectraWiz software is included free with each instrument purchase (>$1K value).

Spectral data can be collected over time and automatically saved into episodic data sets for time series analysis. SpectraWiz can be configured to control, record, and display up to 8 spectrometer channels simultaneously. Episodic data analysis features provide 3d graphing with zoom and extraction into wavelength specific time series. Time series data can be graphed or exported to Excel. Operation with Win9x/NT/ME. Portable Integrating Sphere

StellarNet has announced a new high performance, low cost integrating sphere for use with the companies portable EPP2000 SpectroRadiometers. The sphere is named IC2 because it forms a 2 inch Integrating Cube. It attaches via SMA fiber optic cable to the SpectroRadiometer and has a light input port that’s 5/8 inch in diameter. It can be used to measure spectral irradiance, illuminance, and reflection from 300 to 2500nm.

When used with the SpectraWiz software, the IC2 can be used to measure LEDs dominant wavelength color, %purity, and correlated color temperature using the CIE1931 x y chromaticity diagram in addition to power magnitudes in watts per square meter, lumens, footcandles, and moles per second. Fiber Optic Xenon Lamp

StellarNet Inc. has announced the SL4-Xenon fiber optic light source accessory for measuring color, chemical concentrations, absorbance, and transmittance in the UV and VIS range using the company’s low cost portable fiber optic spectrometers.

The SL4 is a low cost pulsed Xenon light source covering the 200-1100nm wavelength range. A mini-jack terminated cable plugs directly into the EPP2000 spectrometers for synchronization of 8.5 milli-joules per flash. StellarNet Inc. has announced the SSRack 8-channel spectrometer system. Eight independent fiber optically coupled spectrometers operate in parallel. Each channel contains it’s own detector and associated digitizer with scan memory for simultaneous measurement on all 8 channels in parallel. The instruments are installed inside a 700Mhz industrial computer with a 100Mbit network interface, and includes 20GHD with keyb + monitor + USB ports.

The system can be configured with UV, VIS, and NIR range detectors for a variety of process applications. Each optical channel provides 2048 wavelengths and can be used for fiber optic sensing of chemical, pharmaceutical, laser, thin films, and other industrial monitor apps that use spectral information for measurement of sample concentration, thickness, color, illumination, and transmissive or reflective properties. The multi-channel instrument is supplied with SpectraWiz software for Win9x/NT/ME that includes drivers for LabView and popular programming languages. Portable UV SpectroRadiometers

StellarNet has announced the availability of low cost portable SpectroRadiometers calibrated to measure UV irradiance below 350nm. The portable EPP2000-UV model operates over the 200-600nm range with 1.25nm resolution. The EPP2000C operates over the UV+VIS range from 200-850nm with 1nm resolution. The C model incorporates a 40mm diameter concave holographic grating, with no mirrors for the lowest possible stray light. An ISA2000-UV model plugs inside the PC.

The included SpectraWiz software facilitates measurement of irradiant watts per meter2. NIST traceable calibration lamps are used to provide better than 10% accuracy as required by FDA when measuring UVa, UVb, UVc, and time to Erythema and Malanogenic action, as displayed by the SpectraWiz UV monitor application. Battery Pack System

StellarNet Inc. has announced the BP1 battery pack accessory for use with the company’s low cost, portable, fiber optic spectrometer instrumentation. The system extends the portable-operating lifetime by adding a power resource, instead of draining the notebook computer battery.

The BP1 provides +5VDC at 3.2 amp hours to operate the EPP2000 portable spectrometer for up to 12 hours without re-charging while measuring irradiance and emission sources. A light source can be powered concurrently for up to 2 hours for illuminating cuvettes or probes while measuring color, chemical concentrations, or transmittance. Includes +12VDC adapter for re-charge and instrument power cables. The unit incorporates a battery power regulator to maintain 5VDC output as the battery drops to 3.5 volts. The miniature case (1.5 x 2.75 x 6 inch) integrates a rapid charge circuit that automatically switches into a trickle to maintain peak power and preserve battery life.
