Concave Grating Spectrometer with Super Range
StellarNet has
developed a "Super Range"
concave grating
spectrometer for UV-VIS-NIR
range
from 200-1100nm.
The concave holographic grating is aberration corrected and has no mirrors to minimize stray light with superb imaging projecting a flat field on the detector. Additionally, the grating has a dual blaze to provide high efficiency in both the UV and NIR wavelengths. The optics can be fitted with choice of detectors with 2k/3k element CCD or PDAs. The optical input is via fiber optic cable with SMA-905 termination. Also a choice of slit sizes is available to match the application resolution and sensitivity requirements. The spectrometer provides < 1nm resolution and connect sdirectly to a PC's USB port. The instrument is designed to be vibration tolerant with no moving parts or detector sockets, suitable for portable or industrial process stream applications including remote sensing or standard test and analysis. Up to 8 units may be daisy-chained via USB-1 or USB-2 hubs allowing simple configurations for dual and multi-beam process applications. This high performance, low cost spectrometer retails for $3500 with choice of 14, 25, 50, 100, 200um slit. It makes an ideal OEM component for application specific analytical instrumentation used in process control or QC monitoring. The SpectraWiz tm operating software is
included. It acquires and displays the spectral data in real time for absorbance,
transmittance (or reflectance), and emission (or irradiance). A LabView
programs are also
included. Additional software available for Process
Control, Neural Networks, PLS, and Color QC.
StellarNet has announced the CXR-FS, a low cost system for fluorescence spectroscopy. The components include a miniature fiber optically coupled, thermo electrically cooled (TEC) UV-VIS spectrometer with concave grating, an LED based excitation source, and a dual read cuvette sample holder. The excitation source allows for interchangeable LED’s emitting at a variety of wavelengths from UV thru VIS. For example UV LED’s at 295nm & 345nm are used for analysis of aromatic hydrocarbons. This is a low-cost alternative to expensive lasers, band-pass filters, and monochrometers.
Liquid
samples are placed the CUV-F cuvette holder which accommodates the SL1-LED
excitation source. The spectrometer detects fluorescence via dual port fiber
optic Y-cable that doubles the signal and covers the 280-900nm detection range.
The TEC improves signal to noise by 60% when exposure times >3 seconds. |
